National Marketing Manager with experience in the Soft Drinks/Beverage required for major in-country operation

Our client a major private soft drinks/beverage company and bottler within Sub Sahara Africa are looking for a National Marketing Manager for in-country operations in Tanzania. The company have been established in Tanzania for a number of years and currently operate (4) manufacturing plants in country. The position will report through to the Country CEO, with a remit to develop high quality and cost effective marketing, advertising and promotional strategies that meet their corporate goals and are in line with their annual business plan. Implementing a cost-effective and timely manner the company’s strategic objectives

Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare the annual operating plan for the marketing function
Monitor volume and share growth against the plan and recommend necessary revision/solutions
Monitor competitor’s activities including, dealer, consumer trends and customer promotions, new launches and recommend appropriate and innovative marketing solutions to be undertaken
Plan efficient marketing operations while maintaining strict control on expenditures
Formulate, discuss and finalise with General Managers, Regional Heads of sales a company wide advertising and promotion policy
Determine the need, objectives, and required actions for both consumer and customer promotions and develop programs to achieve said goals
Develop strategies to ensure effective and measurable in-store execution of promotional items such as coolers, in-store signs, etc
Ensure market research is up-to-date and analyse all the necessary date including distribution, total market share by flavour etc.
Communicate research data and findings to the NSDM and the regional heads of sales Ensure that annual business objectives of key mangers are aligned with the company’s business goals
Improve organizational capability by regularly providing coaching, team building support, motivation and training Identify high potential employees and motivate them by providing the career development to success and to meet the changing needs of the business

Job Requirements
Bachelor degree in business administration or a related field, MBA a plus. 12 + years work experience in sales & marketing with at least 4 years at senior management level in a multinational )preferably a beverage company or other FMCG industry) Operational marketing experience an advantage
