Sakura Girls’ Secondary School is presently recruiting secondary school teachers for a brand new school in Bangata village, Arusha! Sakura School is seeking qualified candidates for the following teaching positions:

-Math teacher
-Physics teacher
-English teacher
-Geography teacher
-Kiswahili teacher
-Chemistry teacher
-Biology teacher
-History teacher
-Civics teacher

Sakura Girls' Secondary School is a new girls' boarding school funded by the government of Japan in partnership with various NGOs including Group Kilimanjaro, Inc., Sakura Vision Tanzania, and JICA. The goal of the school is to emphasize science, technology, engineering & mathematics (STEM) subjects to girls to create future leaders in these fields. Sakura aims to be a model school by practicing and promoting a student-centered approach to education, along with exposing students to diverse world cultures. Being that the school is new and in the developmental/implementation stage of the project, candidates for this position with be evaluated on the following characteristics.

-History of volunteerism
-Verifiable experience in a secondary school or another high pressure work environment
-Experience working with NGOs
-Experience or willing to work in a multicultural environment
-For science teachers, experience as a laboratory assistant or working in a school laboratory
- Computer skills and IT management experience a plus
-Good character and a warm personality
-Flexible and able to meet unexpected challenges
-Willing to work long hours
-Must be a teacher and know the general duties associated with teaching the Tanzanian curriculum

The ideal candidate will possess:

A bachelor's degree in education and/or science from a recognized university
A teaching certificate
Tanzanian citizenship
Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
Knowledge and skills of PC usage, particularly MS Office
A willingness to learn and adapt
