We are currently recruiting for a permanent Business Development Officer to join the ACCA Tanzania team in Dar es Salaam. This is a part time role (20 hours per week).




As Business Development Officer your primary responsibility will be to act as a first point of contact for ACCA's key stakeholders (employers, members, students and affiliates), proactively anticipating their needs and ensuring they are dealt with efficiently and effectively. This is an exciting, newly created role, where the nature and scope will be wide ranging but has a direct impact on the fulfilment of ACCA's corporate strategic objectives for employers, members, students and affiliates.




Reporting directly to the Business Development Manager, your role will involve:


·         Preparing sales plans and undertaking sales initiatives including campaigns targeted at students, employers and other key stakeholders and proactively promoting ACCA's brand and its Research & Insights (R&I) programme to enhance awareness
·         Organising affiliate conversion workshops, member engagement and round table meetings, seminars and conferences
·         Organising the annual general meetings for members including receptions / ceremonies for fellows and new members ensuring member AGM notices are distributed to members via appropriate media channels online or via print advertisements
·         Undertaking recruitment campaigns targeted at employers, universities, colleges and high schools to increase student enrolments
·         Organising induction or CPD starter workshops for new members to enable them understand and comply with ACCA's CPD requirements
·         Preparing and maintaining the analytics database(s) for approved employers, potential approved employers, key partners in both the public and private sectors
·         Preparing weekly and monthly reports on all market activities




Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


·         Educated to degree level or equivalent in business management or marketing or any related commercial qualification from a reputable and recognised university or college
·         Familiarity working within an international environment is desirable
·         Previous experience working within a sales management and/or marketing related role
·         Previous experience of promoting educational services is desirable
·         Previous experience of managing relationships with stakeholders in both the public and private sectors in Tanzania
·         Good team player with a results oriented focus
·         Excellent administrative, organisational and customer service skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst demonstrating high levels of attention to detail
·         Knowledge and skills in news writing, web designing, graphics and experience in managing social media such as Facebook and Twitter
·         Strong written and spoken English business language skills with a professional approach to engaging with stakeholders
·         Ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy work environment
·         Willingness to work within a small office with an enthusiasm to learn
·         Ability to take the initiative and be a self-starter
