Community Mobilization Officer - Save the Children


Save the Children has been working in Tanzania for more than 30 years. We're working with
government, local organizations and other international agencies to reduce child malnutrition,
improve new-born and maternal health, strengthen child protection systems for vulnerable children,
promote children's participation and contribution to policy and resource allocation for services
which concern them, support the national HIV /TB strategy through the Global Fund program, and
respond to emergencies. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and results
oriented individual with strong technical skills, and a commitment to the promotion of children's
rights to fill the following positions

1. Community Mobilization Officer - Zanzibar 
Role Purpose: Under the guidance of the Programme Manager (Health/Nutrition/Wash), the
Community Mobilization Officer will be responsible for the timely and successful implementation
of community sensitization for the quality maternal and newborn health, nutrition programme
deliverable . He/ she will be responsible to ensure quality program implementation in the
communities using the planned budget and support surveys and assessments. S/he will work in
close collaboration with, and active involvement of the district health officials and the Shehias
of Zanzibar communities. The Community Mobilization Officer will work with the health staff of
the target health facilities in Zanzibar and their communities

Essential Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in health or closely related relevant fields
like Nursing of Medical Sociology. Significant experience working with an international
non-qovernmental organization, donors and government bodies for health programmes.
Understanding and commitment to principles of child rights and child protection. Commitment
to and understanding of SCI's aims, values and principles. Excellent written and spoken English
and Kiswahili. Strong proposal and report writing skills. Strong research skills. Experience and
understanding of advocacy work.
