GIZ is looking to fill the position of a Private Sector Advisor in the Employment for sustainable
Development / Skills for Oil and Gas Africa programme(E4D/SOGA) in Tanzania.

Duty station: Dar es Salaam 
Terms of the Contract:Fixed term contract. 

managing the network of private sector partners for the E4D/SOGA programme Tanzania
acquisition and overseeing implementation of development partnerships with the private sector in collaboration with GIZ headquarter (with a focus on construction, energy and extractive sectors)
technical steering and financial monitoring of grants related to private sector development
developing the private sector portfolio of E4D/SOGA Tanzania


monitors overall economic development in Tanzania and keeps abreast of the status of major capital projects, attends forums and conferences to collect relevant information;
assists the team leader in managing relationships with large capital projects as current/future partners for E4D/SOGA
leads networking, regular contact and dialogue with private sector partners;
leads communication work to keep private sector partners informed about E4D/SOGA developments;
together with GIZ headquarter in Germany, leads acquisition and development of partnerships with the private sector, designs and manages all processes towards entering into partnership agreements with private sector partners;

together with GIZ headquarter in Germany coordinates project activities of development partnerships in consultation with private partners, including preparation, organisation and moderation of planning exercises and their implementation, management, monitoring, quality assurance, evaluation, communication and documentation;
ensures that the implementing organizations of sub-projects are linked to other E4D/SOGA private sector project partners and use synergies of E4D/SOGA network

organizes regularly E4D/SOGA Industry Partnership meetings, including the development of agenda, drafting of presentations, updates and minutes as well as membership development; .

designs and continuously re-adjusts concepts for sectoral Industry Partnership Meetings;

works with E4D/SOGA team to define gaps between skills requirements of capital projects and
Tanzanian labour force;
coordinates E4D/SOGA Industry Partnership contributions to skills development initiatives
(materials, workshop equipment, mentors, etc.).
supports the team leader in the overall programme management
supports the team leader in management of contracts
conducts results oriented monitoring in his/her areas qf responsibility

is the focal point for at least one transversal topic of GIZ Tanzania (Gender, HIV/Aids, Inclusion or  other

Required qualifications, competences and experience
Masters in Business, Economics, Development Studies, Political Sciences or related fields.
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in or with private sector companies and/or private
sector collaboration and/or private sector development;
A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, including budgeting and budget
forecasting, stakeholder communication and communications, internal and external reporting and
well versed in economic and development policy issues in Tanzania;
excellent conceptual, communication and negotiation skills, ability to express ideas clearly and
persuasively both orally and in writing;
clear understanding of the different roles, contrasting demands and responsibilities of public and
private sector players;
confident and eloquent in working in an international professional context;
Excellent knowledge of German and English language;
