Programmer Manager - Save the Children

Save the Children has been working in Tanzania for more than 30 years. We're working with government, local organizations and other international agencies to reduce child malnutrition, improve new-born and maternal health, strengthen child protection systems for vulnerable children, promote children's participation and contribution to policy and resource allocation for services which concern them, support the national HIVITB strategy through the Global Fund program, and
respond to emergencies. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and results oriented individual with strong technical skills, and a commitment to the promotion of children's rights to fill the following positions

1. Songwe Area Programme Manager 

Role Purpose: The Area Programme Manager is accountable for providing management and oversight of the implementation of all the awards in Songwe region and to represent and advocate for Save the Children's work and organizational priorities with a wide range of external parties including government representatives, communities, donors, UN and other humanitarian agencies operating in the area. Provide leadership and guidance to the programme team comprising different sectors of (currently) Education, Youth Livelihoods, Child Protection and_Child Rights Governance.

Essential Qualification: Degree or Master's Degree level in Social Sciences. Five years of relevant area work experience or equivalent. Expertise in the thematic area of education/youth livelihoods will be considered as strong assets as well as practical knowledge of child participation methodologies. Substantial budget holding responsibilities - experience of managing an annual budget of approximately $500,000. High level report writing skills in English.

2. Singida-Dodoma Area Programme Manager
Role Purpose: The Singida-Dodoma Area Programme Manager is accountable for providing management and oversight of the implementation of all the awards in Singida/Dodoma regions and to represent and advocate for Save the Children's work and organizational priorities with a wide range of external parties including government representatives, communities, donors, UN and other humanitarian agencies operating in the area. Provide leadership and guidance to the programme team comprising different sectors of (currently) Nutrition/Food Security and. to the Singida office.

Essential Qualification: Degree level in Nutrition, Agriculture or Public Health. Masters preferred. Five years of relevant area work experience or equivalent. Experience in promotion of agriculture and livestock production practices for Food Security/Nutrition outcomes will be considered as strong assets as well as practical knowledge of child participation methodologies. Strong technical grasp of maternal and child health and nutrition and nutrition sensitive agriculture. Substantial budget holding responsibilities - experience of managing an annual budget of approximateiy $500,000. High level report writing skills in English.  ". .
