Required Criteria

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with valid registration in Tanzania.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year as a licensed pharmacist.
  • Experience with NGOs (MSF or similar) in developing countries is an added advantage.

Languages:

  • English & Swahili (Kirundi and/or French will be an added plus).

Objectives of the Role

To ensure effective functioning of the pharmacy and supervise supply chain processes in line with MSF standards and national regulations, guaranteeing drug availability, quality storage, and safe dispensing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage storage, stock control, hygiene, pest control, and security of drugs and medical materials.
  • Coordinate delivery, reception, and recording of orders; ensure stock levels are maintained.
  • Supervise drug orders, supply to patients, and maintain therapeutic protocols.
  • Monitor supply to hospital wards, OPD dispensary, and other supported pharmacies.
  • Ensure compliance with MSF SOPs and national pharmacy regulations.
  • Monitor controlled drugs ledger, avoid expiries/stock ruptures, and provide timely reports.
  • Supervise and train pharmacy staff, assistants, and nurses on safe drug dispensing.
  • Record stock data using Isystock and prepare reports on consumption and needs.
  • Support training on drug use, side effects, and pharmacy best practices.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
