The bank seeks a qualified Officer, Custodial Operations to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery of custodial services by overseeing securities settlements, asset safekeeping, and related operational processes.


Job Purpose

To ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality custodial operations through accurate settlement of securities transactions, safekeeping of client assets, and maintaining exceptional service standards in all custodial service functions.


Key Responsibilities

Financial (30%)

  • Ensure 100% revenue collection for all custodial products to support revenue targets.
  • Process and settle all custodial service contracts accurately to avoid financial losses.
  • Detect and mitigate fraudulent transactions to minimize operational risks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate settlement of equity and fixed-income transactions.
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve settlement failures or discrepancies.

Operational Excellence (40%)

Billing & Invoicing

  • Generate and dispatch accurate invoices within deadlines.
  • Minimize outstanding receivables through timely collections.
  • Process client remittances and VAT payments in collaboration with Finance.

Corporate Actions

  • Capture and disseminate corporate action announcements accurately and promptly.
  • Process voluntary and mandatory corporate actions within SLAs and deadlines.
  • Reconcile and credit client accounts with entitlements and IPO/Auction allotments.
  • Dispatch agendas, annual reports, and proxy instructions on time.
  • Follow up with clients on pending actions and respond to queries promptly.

Systems & Reporting

  • Support development of timely Management Information (MI) reports.
  • Collaborate with Manager, Custodial Services, to enhance SLAs.
  • Maintain accurate reports, filings, and records.
  • Identify training needs and support implementation.
  • Monitor departmental performance and compliance with procedures.

Customer Service Excellence (30%)

  • Log and respond to all client queries within 24 hours.
  • Maintain accurate client authorization and power of attorney records.
  • Notify clients of relevant market developments.
  • Support client due diligence and on-site visits.
  • File settled trade documents and statements accurately.
  • Stay current with custodial procedures, tariffs, and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in custodial services, pension fund management, or administration.
  • CISI certification or equivalent qualification in securities services.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong decision-making and operational management capabilities.
  • Understanding of the economic, financial, and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to manage processes efficiently and ensure audit compliance.
