About the Role:
Equity Bank is seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Manager – Controls. This key role reports directly to the Head of Internal Controls and is responsible for overseeing specific operational functions within the bank, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of processes such as customer data transfers and financial transaction batches. The role focuses on monitoring performance, maintaining compliance, preventing errors, and supporting operational stability.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process Monitoring & Control: Oversee and monitor daily operations and batch processes to ensure accurate and efficient completion.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance procedures to prevent and resolve errors in process outputs.
• Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Performance Management: Analyze batch process performance, identify improvement areas, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency.
• Reporting & Documentation: Generate and share regular reports on operational performance, issues, and resolutions with management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Strong understanding of banking operations, products, and procedures.
• Analytical skills to interpret batch/transaction data and prepare detailed reports.
• Excellent communication skills to explain findings to management and team members.
• Leadership and teamwork skills, with experience managing or coordinating staff.
• High attention to detail to prevent errors and maintain process integrity.

Education and Work Experience:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in bank operations, audit, internal control, compliance, or risk management, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
