About the Hotel:
Our client is a startup hotel located in Juja, focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences with a modern approach. They are building from the ground up and are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel Manager to lead operations and help shape the hotel’s identity.

Role Summary:
The Hotel Manager will oversee all day-to-day operations including guest services, staff management, budgeting, vendor coordination, and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strategic thinking, operational excellence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Startup & Brand Development

  • Lead pre-opening activities including system setup, vendor negotiations, and staff onboarding
  • Contribute to the hotel’s brand identity, culture, SOPs, and long-term strategy

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to local laws, safety standards, and hospitality regulations
  • Conduct audits to maintain cleanliness, maintenance, and service quality

Operational & Strategic Leadership

  • Oversee all hotel departments: front desk, housekeeping, F&B, maintenance, guest services
  • Manage daily operations to ensure efficiency and exceptional guest experience
  • Lead recruitment, training, and development of hotel staff
  • Set performance objectives and provide regular feedback and coaching

Financial Oversight

  • Develop and monitor budgets to ensure profitability
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, inventory, and procurement
  • Implement cost control measures and analyze financial reports

Guest Experience

  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction and resolve complaints professionally
  • Implement guest service initiatives and monitor feedback platforms

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration or equivalent
  • At least 8 years proven experience in hospitality, including 3 years in senior management
  • Experience in startup hotel setups is a plus
  • Financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, PMS, POS, and reservation systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on mentality, adaptable, and willing to “wear many hats”
