About the Role:
Noblegate International Academy seeks an experienced and dedicated Global & Kenyan University Counselor to provide comprehensive college and career guidance to high school students. The counselor will manage the entire post-secondary application process, specializing in international applications (UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, etc.) while maintaining expert knowledge of the Kenyan university admissions system (KUCCPS). A key initial task will be to establish a complete resource file for Kenya’s top universities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Global College & Program Applications

  • Serve as the primary contact for students applying to international universities (UCAS, OUAC, and direct applications to Australia, Europe, Asia, etc.).
  • Manage and submit required school documents, including Counselor Recommendation Letters, School Profiles, and official transcripts.
  • Provide individualized coaching and workshops for essay/personal statement writing and extracurricular/profile development.
  • Assist students in applying for competitive international programs and scholarships.
  • Advise on financial aid and scholarship documentation processes across different countries.

2. Kenyan University & Admissions Expertise

  • Guide students through KUCCPS applications, minimum cluster requirements, and selection strategies.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date information file for the top 20 universities in Kenya.
  • Develop strong working relationships with admissions officers from Kenyan universities and tertiary institutions.

3. Guidance & Administration

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions on career exploration, curriculum choices (IGCSE, IB), test preparation (SAT/ACT), and post-secondary planning.
  • Organize information sessions for parents and staff regarding college admissions and financial aid options.
  • Maintain accurate records of all student applications, decisions, scholarships, and matriculations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of college counseling experience, with a proven track record of placing students internationally (UK, Canada, Australia, Europe) and locally in Kenya.
  • Expert knowledge of KUCCPS and international direct application processes (e.g., UCAS).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of writing compelling recommendation letters.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling or Education.
  • Experience in a Cambridge curriculum or international school environment.
  • Membership in professional college counseling organizations (e.g., International ACAC, CIS).
