Purpose of the Role

Provide professional physical security services across the process plant, bullion shipment, foot patrols, and general security monitoring, while adhering to human rights and AGA values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct foot patrols around the process plant and perimeter fence; report irregularities.
  • Provide security for high-risk areas, including mill sections, elution, and primary crusher zones.
  • Conduct body searches for employees, contractors, and visitors at designated access points.
  • Inspect vehicles entering and exiting the process plant.
  • Prevent contraband entry and ensure only authorized personnel access restricted areas.
  • Manage security duties in the Gold House.
  • Implement the Three D’s Model: Deter, Detect, Denial.
  • Conduct waybill checks and maintain security registers.
  • Attend disciplinary hearings as a witness if required.
  • Comply with VPSHR, Cyanide safety training, and all process plant security protocols.
  • Maintain high confidentiality and report any conflicts of interest.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Ordinary Level Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) or higher.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in security, preferably in a mining environment.
  • Experience at Geita Gold Mine is an advantage.
  • Clean criminal and disciplinary record.
  • Physically fit to pass pre-employment medical examinations.
