Job Summary

Futuristic Ltd (“Futuristic”) is a leading provider of Systems Development and Integration Services across Kenya and Africa. The company is seeking a Software Developer who will report to the Systems Development Services (SDS) Manager and collaborate with ICT professionals on various projects. The successful candidate will design and develop customized systems, particularly Web and Mobile Applications, for our clients.

Key Requirements

• Experience in software development using Java and PHP with front-end frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, ReactJS, Node.js).
• Proficiency in Web Frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Laravel, Java Spring, or Struts.
• Working knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and NoSQL.
• Certification in ICT Security and/or Web Application Security Testing (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CeH, LPT, or OSCP) is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Digital Payment Platforms, Social Media APIs, and SMS Gateway Integrations.
• Experience in API development (REST/SOAP) and OAuth2 implementations.
• Relevant DevOps/Cloud Certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure DevOps, DASA) or Business Analysis Certifications (CBAP/CSPO) are desirable.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Knowledge of Android and iOS Mobile App Development is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct user requirements analysis and functional system design.
• Develop enterprise-grade web and mobile applications in multiple programming languages.
• Perform system testing, maintenance, and version control.
• Develop and maintain detailed project documentation.
• Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and training sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in systems development using PHP and/or Java.
