Job Summary

Doulas by the Bay is recruiting a compassionate and experienced Virtual Nutritionist (Kenya-based) to deliver evidence-based online classes on pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and infant & child nutrition. You will teach live Zoom sessions using the organisation’s curriculum, adapt lessons for diverse families across Africa, and collaborate with the education team to improve materials and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver live virtual nutrition classes via Zoom for expectant and new parents using DBB curriculum.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the cultural and practical needs of diverse families across Africa.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based guidance on maternal, infant, and family nutrition.
  • Respond kindly and professionally to participant questions during and after sessions.
  • Collaborate with the education team to refine course materials and delivery methods.
  • Maintain an inclusive, supportive, and respectful virtual classroom environment.
  • Provide practical, actionable feeding and nutrition tips that families can implement at home.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related health field.
  • Registered or licensed Nutritionist in Kenya (or equivalent local certification).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maternal, child, or community nutrition.
  • Prior teaching or virtual education experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Comfortable using Zoom and basic digital tools (Google Docs, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Warm, empathetic teaching style with strong ability to connect with families.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working directly with pregnant and postpartum women.
  • Comfort in delivering content to multicultural/international audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex nutrition science into simple, practical family tips.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Competitive pay based on experience and teaching hours.
  • Flexible schedule (part-time with potential to expand to full-time).
  • Training and ongoing support will be provided.
