Job Purpose

The Relationship Manager – Tourism will grow NMB Bank’s tourism portfolio by managing client relationships, providing tailored banking solutions, and supporting tourism businesses with expert credit analysis. The role involves collaboration with branch managers and relationship officers to recruit and retain tourism clients, ensuring portfolio growth and high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market and sell tourism-related banking products: loans, deposits, foreign exchange, fund transfers, internet banking, and payment solutions.
  • Develop strategies to grow tourism assets and deposits, identify new opportunities, and strengthen client relationships.
  • Monitor and appraise tourism credit applications and provide recommendations aligned with bank policies.
  • Lead tourism segment initiatives, mentor Relationship Managers and Officers, and conduct training sessions for branch staff.
  • Collect market intelligence, review tourism product offerings, and advise on enhancements based on industry trends.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and act as a trusted advisor to tourism businesses.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s is an advantage).
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in client management within banking, business development, and tourism.
  • Strong skills in sales, credit appraisal, financial analysis, and portfolio management.
  • Deep understanding of tourism and hospitality industry in Northern Tanzania and East Africa.
  • Excellent communication (English & Swahili), negotiation, problem-solving, and client engagement skills.
  • Proficient in standard computer applications (Excel, Word, Access).
