Communications Officer – Nairobi

Summary: The Communications Officer will manage multimedia content creation, social media, website updates, brand communication, event management, and digital campaigns. The role supports both internal and external communication outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and produce multimedia content for various platforms.
• Manage social media pages and digital engagement activities.
• Handle web management and content updates.
• Participate in brand messaging and communication strategy.
• Plan and support organizational events.
• Develop campaigns for fundraising and partnerships.
• Design and disseminate publications such as newsletters and reports.

Technical Requirements:

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Experience using Canva for rapid design.
• Knowledge of Google Analytics and social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite).
• Experience with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp.
• Content management experience with WordPress or Squarespace.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, PR, Multimedia Production, or related field.
• Additional certifications in digital marketing, videography, photography, or graphic design are a plus.

Professional Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience in media, communications, or nonprofit sector.
• Strong portfolio showcasing video, photo, and graphic design work.
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling ability.
• Experience managing social media across multiple platforms.
• Creativity and technical skills in digital content production.
