Job Summary

Noblegate International Academy seeks an experienced and dedicated Global & Kenyan University Counselor to provide comprehensive college and career guidance to high school students. The counselor will manage the entire post-secondary application process, focusing on international applications (UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, etc.) while maintaining expert knowledge of the Kenyan university admissions system (KUCCPS). An important initial task will be to create and maintain a complete resource file for Kenya’s top universities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Global College & Program Applications

  • Direct International Applications: Guide students through international university platforms, including UCAS (UK), OUAC (Canada), and direct systems for Australia, Europe, and Asia.
  • Document Submission: Manage and submit counselor recommendations, school profiles, and official transcripts according to each university’s requirements and deadlines.
  • Essay & Profile Development: Provide one-on-one coaching and group workshops on writing personal statements and building strong extracurricular and leadership profiles.
  • Selective Program Support: Support students in applying for competitive international programs and scholarships.
  • Financial Aid: Advise students and families on scholarships and financial aid documentation for different countries.

2. Kenyan University & Admissions Expertise

  • KUCCPS Guidance: Advise students on the KUCCPS application process, minimum cluster requirements, and strategies for both government and self-sponsored placements.
  • Resource Development: Develop and maintain a detailed file for the top 20 Kenyan universities, including entry requirements, fees, and admissions cycles.
  • Local Outreach: Build strong professional relationships with admissions officers at Kenyan universities and tertiary institutions.

3. Guidance & Administration

  • Individual & Group Counseling: Provide personalized and group guidance on career exploration, subject selection, test preparation (SAT/ACT), and post-secondary planning starting from Grade 9.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Lead sessions for parents and staff on admissions trends, deadlines, and financial aid opportunities both locally and abroad.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate student application, decision, scholarship, and matriculation data.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in college counseling with successful placements in both international and Kenyan universities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of KUCCPS and international application systems (e.g., UCAS, OUAC).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills for handling multiple deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling recommendation letters.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Counseling or Education.
  • Experience in a Cambridge curriculum or international school environment.
  • Membership in professional counseling associations (e.g., International ACAC, CIS).
