Job Overview

The HIS Director will coordinate all UCSF-supported HIS activities in Tanzania, leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative health informatics solutions. This role focuses on supporting national HIV data systems (CTC2/CTC3) and leading the transition of operations to the Government of Tanzania (GoT).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of approximately 15 staff supporting HIS activities and informatics deliverables.
• Lead the transition of HIS systems to the Government of Tanzania through capacity building and knowledge transfer.
• Oversee technical support for sub-contracts and consultancies with HIS partners.
• Collaborate with MoH, CDC, and stakeholders to prioritize digital health investments.
• Enforce HIS policies and governance in coordination with national stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Computer Science, Data Science, or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience applying informatics tools to public health settings.
• Proven knowledge of PEPFAR health systems (CTC2/CTC3, DHIS2, eSRS, ZanLIS, DATIM).
• Strong project management skills (Certificate preferred).
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
