About the Opportunity
FreshCrop Limited is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Controller & Inventory Manager to oversee cost management and inventory operations. This dual-function role is critical for ensuring financial accountability, optimizing inventory levels, and implementing robust internal controls across company farms, agrovets, and processing sites.

Key Responsibilities

AreaKey Duties
Cost Control & Financial Analysis• Apply cost accounting principles, track material costs, and calculate COGS.
• Monitor and analyze costs, identify budget variances, and forecast expenses.
• Develop and maintain cost control systems and prepare detailed budgets.
• Implement strategies to minimize expenditures and maximize profitability.
• Oversee procurement related to inventory needs.
Inventory Management & Supply Chain• Manage all company inventories, including potato stores, sorting, and logistics.
• Optimize stock levels and monitor movement between sites.
• Coordinate logistics for efficient inventory flow and enforce SOPs.
• Maintain updated farm asset registers and verify mechanization and fuel depots.
Audit, Internal Controls & Compliance• Conduct regular physical stock counts and audits company-wide.
• Reconcile physical counts with system records and address discrepancies.
• Strengthen internal controls to prevent fraud, waste, or misuse.
• Oversee labour documentation and conduct random field audits.
• Identify SOP gaps and champion process improvements.

Qualifications and Key Skills

CategoryRequirements
EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field.
ExperienceMinimum 3 years in stock management and 3 years in a managerial role. Proven logistics experience. Experience in agriculture is a plus.
Technical SkillsCost Accounting, Variance Analysis, Financial Modeling, Advanced Excel, ERP/WMS proficiency (QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
Operational SkillsInventory Control Methodologies, Demand Planning, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Negotiation, Vendor Management.
Behavioral SkillsStrong organizational, leadership, and communication skills; process-focused; high attention to detail.
