About the Opportunity
BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania is part of a leading development organization. We are seeking a Finance Manager to ensure effective financial management, reporting, planning, and compliance across our operations in Tanzania, supporting programs that create positive impact for adolescent girls and young women.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budget Management

  • Review and analyze consolidated organizational budget performance against project budgets.
  • Support long-term financial planning and cost management aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure all financial activities remain within approved budgets through regular monitoring.

Financial Reporting & Systems

  • Produce timely, accurate, and comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Maintain complete and reliable financial records for accurate management reporting.
  • Review payment vouchers and journal entries for proper coding and accuracy.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Maintain strong internal controls over receipts, expenditures, and program budgets.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and local statutory requirements.
  • Oversee accurate and timely remittance of statutory deductions and taxes.

Audit & Capacity Building

  • Prepare and coordinate annual external and internal audits.
  • Build capacity of finance and non-finance staff through training and mentorship.
  • Review and improve financial systems and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications and Key Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ACCA or CPA) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in finance within an international NGO.
  • Minimum 3 years’ supervision of a team of at least 5 people.
  • Strong knowledge of income tax, laws, and accounting frameworks (IFRS/IAS).
  • Fluency in English and Swahili.
