Job Summary

To ensure that Vodacom Tanzania PLC and its subsidiary companies have an adequate risk management program and are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, rules, company policies, codes, and standards; and to implement adequate systems and processes to monitor and enforce compliance and manage risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a robust Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
  • Oversee the business continuity planning (BCM) lifecycle.
  • Enforce security policies and procedures and provide effective support to Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA).
  • Design and implement a legal compliance programme aligned with globally recognized standards.
  • Deliver training and awareness programmes on Vodacom’s compliance standards.
  • Ensure all systems, processes, and procedures comply with Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) legislation and policies.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable economic sanctions and trade export control laws.
  • Maintain appropriate controls for Mobile Financial Services compliance, particularly Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual Policy Compliance Review (PCR) process.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence for potential Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field. Undergraduate Degree in Law (LL.B) will be an added advantage.
  • 10 years minimum experience in the risk and compliance management field, including experience in a senior management position.
  • In-depth knowledge of Risks and Compliance, risk management processes, and methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, and anti-terrorist financing legislation.
  • Knowledge of the Telecom and Mobile Financial Service operating environment.
  • Strong analytical abilities, proficient numeric skills, and management experience with a large team of professionals.
  • High integrity, ethical standards, independent judgment, and effective communication skills.
