Role Overview

HR World Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Manager – Tax and Compliance to oversee all tax and compliance-related matters for the company and its clients. The role ensures full adherence to Tanzanian tax laws, regulatory requirements, and best practices while providing advisory support to internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all tax-related issues and documentation for the company and its clients.
  • Allocate, monitor, and delegate assignments to subordinates to ensure timely execution.
  • Oversee VAT refunds, tax compliance, audits, examinations, and objections in line with legal and company requirements.
  • Manage transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Interpret and apply Tanzanian tax laws to support business decisions and minimize risks.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities (TRA and other regulators) on tax matters and ensure statutory deadlines are met.
  • Provide advisory support to clients and internal teams on complex tax and compliance issues.
  • Conduct and participate in internal tax and compliance training sessions.
  • Attend and contribute to committee meetings and discussions as required.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations on tax audits and compliance matters for management review.
  • Stay updated on changes in local tax legislation and advise on adjustments to policies and practices.
  • Perform any other tax and compliance-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Postgraduate Degree or Advanced Diploma in Tax Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in tax and compliance management within auditing, consulting, or financial institutions.
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, compliance frameworks, and transfer pricing regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tax automation systems.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
