The Position

Aga Khan Education Service, Tanzania (AKES, T) is a private, not-for-profit educational organization registered under the Companies Act. It operates three schools in Tanzania with a vision to provide accessible, world-class education that prepares students to become confident, open-minded, articulate, and ethical individuals ready to make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.

AKES, T is part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) — a global group of private development agencies working to improve living standards and opportunities for people of all backgrounds.

Available Teaching Positions

Mathematics Teacher – with experience in Learning Support within the IGCSE Curriculum
Kiswahili and Humanities Teacher – with experience teaching in the IGCSE Curriculum

Roles and Responsibilities

Create a safe and stimulating environment to ensure effective teaching and learning.
Set clear learning objectives and challenge every student to achieve academic growth.
Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes and continuous improvement.
Understand students’ capabilities and adapt teaching materials to suit their learning needs.
Apply diverse and effective teaching methods that enhance student engagement and performance.
Continuously assess and evaluate learning outcomes to maintain high teaching standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education from a reputable and accredited university.
Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience teaching the relevant subject in an IGCSE International School.
Strong understanding of curriculum management, design, implementation, and evaluation.
Familiarity with 21st-century teaching practices and strategies for improving student achievement.
Demonstrated ability in school improvement planning and self-evaluation frameworks.
