🧭 Job Purpose

Responsible for managing strategic relationships with senior public officials within parastatals, driving acquisition and retention efforts, and expanding the bank’s asset and liability portfolio through targeted sales initiatives.


⚙️ Main Responsibilities

  • Drive growth in assets, liabilities, investment products, and insurance through proactive customer visits, sales activities, and retention strategies.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with Senior Officials in Parastatals, acting as the primary liaison to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Maximize client value by cross-selling NMB products and services tailored to customer needs.
  • Prepare and review portfolio movement reports, identifying and resolving irregularities.
  • Ensure adherence to KYC, AML, and other regulatory standards to minimize risk exposure.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly resolving queries, complaints, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies and coach Relationship Officers and Tellers on engaging decision makers.
  • Maintain a structured call program for assigned clients and prospects with proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Stay updated on product developments and recommend enhancements for senior parastatal clients.
  • Organize or recommend quarterly engagement events to enhance NMB’s visibility among parastatal decision makers.
  • Conduct initial screening of potential clients and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and products, adapting to evolving technologies and customer expectations.

  • Strong understanding of bank products, operations, and regulations, especially for Private Banking clients.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of client needs and ability to develop customized financial solutions.
  • Excellent client management, networking, and interpersonal skills, especially with senior decision makers.
  • Sound knowledge of financial and banking products and market trends.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical and research skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Strategic thinker, adaptable to change, and proactive in identifying market opportunities.
  • High professionalism, integrity, and diplomatic acumen.
  • Proven leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Strong credit analysis, decision-making, and financial management skills.
  • Experience in sales, relationship management, or project management.
  • Existing networks within government and parastatal organizations are a strong advantage.

🎓 Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Statistics, Research, or related fields.
  • Master’s Degree in a business-related field is an added advantage.
  • At least 4 years of experience handling Public Sector & Senior Decision Makers.
  • Experience in Credit Analysis and Appraisal is required.
