Organization: Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT)

CCBRT aims to be the preferred provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa. As a healthcare social enterprise, CCBRT serves the community and the most vulnerable through hospital and development programs. The organization is committed to preventing lifelong disabilities and offers extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) services, including obstetric fistula repairs.

Since 2005, CCBRT has provided community and centre-based rehabilitation services from the “House of Hope” in Moshi, promoting inclusive development at all levels.

To strengthen its Occupational Therapy Services, CCBRT is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join its rehabilitation team in Moshi.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality occupational therapy rehabilitation services, including counselling and education, to clients in both clinical and community settings.
  • Oversee and manage the seating clinic services, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with CCBRT standards.
  • Deliver rehabilitation and counselling services in accordance with CCBRT guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain accurate data and reporting for internal and donor/partner requirements.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to deliver holistic care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist recognized by the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
  • Member of the Association of Occupational Therapists in Tanzania.
  • Ability to use electrotherapy machines.
  • Additional training (an added advantage):
    • Cerebral Palsy (CP) Management
    • Manual Therapy Certification
    • Communication Skills for Working with Persons with Disabilities
    • Sensory Integration Therapy
    • Basic Wheelchair Knowledge
  • Computer literate with strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in both English and Swahili).
  • Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and contribute.
