Operations and Finance Manager Job Opportunity at YCI

Job Overview

Youth Challenge International (YCI) is seeking an experienced Operations and Finance Manager for the HerStart: Innovate the Future initiative in Zanzibar. Reporting to the Country Manager, this leadership role oversees financial performance, procurement, human resources, and local NGO compliance. This is a one-year renewable contract based in Unguja, starting in March 2026.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Operations Management: Coordinate organizational systems, oversee procurement, and ensure compliance with local NGO registration and reporting requirements.
• Financial Management: Lead annual budgeting, monitor cash flow, identify financial risks, and ensure compliance with national tax filings and audits.
• Human Resources: Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews for local staff, while managing health and security risks.
• Technical Training: Provide coaching to staff, volunteers, and partners on finance and operational guidelines.
• Volunteer Supervision: Mentor international volunteers to ensure their deliverables align with the goals of the HerStart program.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience in finance, operations, or human resources.
• Skills: Mastery of Microsoft Excel and accounting software; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal English proficiency.
• Residency: Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Tanzania (preference given to Zanzibar residents).
