Position: Finance Manager

The Finance Manager will be a key member of the site leadership team, providing strategic and operational financial management, driving performance improvement, ensuring compliance, and embedding the Barrick DNA across the Finance function.

Key Responsibilities

General

  • Assist the GM in driving improved financial performance and decision-making through effective tools and controls.
  • Empower decision makers with accurate, timely information.

Accounts & Cash Management

  • Oversee working capital management, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure adequate cash availability for daily operations while reducing cash footprint.

Cost Control & Reporting

  • Support budget holders in monitoring and controlling expenditure.
  • Deliver variance analysis, performance tracking, and feasibility studies.
  • Provide management reporting and board-level presentations.

Financial & Capital Management

  • Enforce financial policies and advise on profitability and contract negotiations.
  • Optimize capital allocation in line with the Life of Mine Plan.
  • Review AFEs, perform investment analysis, and coordinate insurance recoveries.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and medium-term plans.
  • Align financial plans with production goals while meeting revenue and profit targets.

Project Management

  • Monitor expenses across projects to ensure budget compliance, ROI tracking, and proper allocation.

Environmental Management System (EMS)

  • Ensure resources, leadership, and continual improvement of the environmental management system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Finance or equivalent
  • CPA (T) or equivalent, registered under NBAA
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a high-level financial role, preferably in mining or related industries
  • Strong ERP, MS Office, and reporting tool proficiency
  • Experience in remote site environments (an advantage)
