Job Vacancies – Temporary Jobs (Mtwara)
We are offering temporary assignments for qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Position: Mechanical Equipment Operators (4)

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Reach Stacker, Forklift, Empty Handler, and other equipment to receive and load sea containers safely and efficiently
  • Load and unload containers onto chassis, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing
  • Monitor gauges, inspect products, and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment parts, and report any maintenance issues to the Mechanical Engineer-Container Terminal and site supervisor
  • Maintain accurate records of container movements, inventory, and equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety and process compliance, adhering to company and port safety policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and stakeholders to ensure efficient container and product handling operations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure optimal use of resources and minimal delays
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity in the terminal

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Port Equipment and Facilities Maintenance Management or relevant field
  • Certificate in Mechanical Operator Course
  • 3+ years relevant work experience in equipment operation (warehouse operations preferred)
  • Any Certificate of Safety Training is an added advantage
  • A valid driving license
