Job Overview

The Program Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling maternal, newborn, and child health (MCH) interventions. This role requires technical leadership and collaboration with national and regional health authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement evidence-based MCH programs (ANC, Kangaroo Mother Care, etc.).
  • Manage multi-site program budgets and ensure donor compliance.
  • Train and mentor healthcare workers on EmONC and MNCH protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and local government authorities (RMO/DMO).
  • Prepare high-quality donor reports and funding proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in MCH programming and scale-up.
  • Proven experience managing programs funded by international institutional donors.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to program sites across Tanzania.
