Job Purpose

World Vision Tanzania seeks highly qualified candidates for a seven-year donor-funded project aimed at improving nutrition and nutrition-related rights for marginalized groups — especially women, adolescent girls, and children under 5 years of age — in Simiyu Region (Maswa & Meatu Districts).

Project Name: REACTS-IN (Realizing Gender Equality and Attitudinal Change for Transformative Systems in Nutrition)

Main Objectives:

  • Promote gender-equitable practices in nutrition, health, and SRHR at all levels.
  • Strengthen delivery of gender-equitable health and nutrition services.
  • Empower local and international stakeholders (especially women and adolescent girls’ organizations) to engage in advocacy and policy dialogue.

The Project Manager will oversee the daily coordination, management, and efficient implementation of the project in the target regions. The role involves developing detailed annual work plans, ensuring timely execution, supervising project teams, and maintaining collaboration with all stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Support and Strategic Engagement (25%)

  • Lead implementation of key project activities.
  • Develop detailed annual work plans and track progress against budget and timelines.
  • Provide technical assistance to local stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project risks.
  • Integrate project activities into existing nutrition and livelihood interventions.
  • Coordinate with implementing partners for community-based initiatives.
  • Lead the development of behavior change communication strategies.
  • Ensure quality and timely execution of all project models and activities.

End Results:

  • Partnerships and networks established.
  • High-quality project delivery within budget and timelines.
  • Low audit risks and strong accountability.

2. Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation (25%)

  • Maintain high-quality reporting and data management.
  • Oversee development and tracking of project indicators.
  • Coordinate evaluations, research, and documentation of best practices.
  • Collaborate with M&E and finance teams for donor compliance.

End Results:

  • Accurate project data and reports.
  • Approved and effective annual work plans.
  • Documented best practices and success stories.

3. Project Reporting (10%)

  • Prepare narrative and financial reports per donor standards.
  • Ensure timely submission and review of reports.
  • Produce communication materials, stories, and visual content for donor visibility.

End Results:

  • Timely, accurate, and compliant donor reports.
  • Effective communication with all stakeholders.

4. Partnership & Capacity Building (10%)

  • Develop and implement partner capacity-building plans.
  • Monitor partner performance and conduct regular reviews.

End Results:

  • Strengthened local partnerships.
  • Improved partner capacity and alignment with project goals.

5. Financial & Resource Management (10%)

  • Monitor budget utilization and ensure donor compliance.
  • Manage financial resources and project assets responsibly.

End Results:

  • 90–100% donor burn rate maintained.
  • Low financial and audit risks.

6. Networking, Visibility & Donor Relations

  • Represent World Vision at key stakeholder forums.
  • Promote visibility of the project and donor recognition.
  • Share project impact stories and best practices.

End Results:

  • Strengthened relationships with government and partners.
  • Enhanced visibility and donor confidence.

Qualifications and Experience

Required Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing health and nutrition projects.
  • Proven leadership in integrated development projects.
  • Experience with donor-funded programs and local CSOs/WROs.
  • Strong background in gender equality, SRHR, MNCH, and livelihoods projects.

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Project Management, or a related discipline.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with government, NGOs, and international partners.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Work Environment

  • Based in Maswa, Simiyu Region.
  • Up to 50% domestic travel required.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
