JOB OVERVIEW:

Hakadosh Limited is seeking a Sales & Operations Officer – Clearing to drive business development and oversee the coordination of clearing and forwarding services. This role involves recruiting clients, managing relationships, ensuring compliance, and supporting smooth and timely movement of consignments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and approach potential clients (importers, exporters, agents).
• Prepare proposals, quotations, and follow-ups to close sales.
• Maintain and update customer database/CRM.
• Serve as the primary client contact for clearing operations.
• Coordinate documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, permits, certificates).
• Liaise with shipping agents, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and port authorities.
• Track shipments and provide clients with timely updates.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company procedures.
• Raise invoices, follow up on payments, and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Handle client queries, claims, or disputes professionally.
• Support operational teams with shipment planning and delivery arrangements.
• Produce regular sales and operations reports (daily, weekly, monthly).

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and client management abilities.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of customs clearance systems and CRM preferred.
• Problem-solving skills under pressure with a service-oriented mindset.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Number of new customers onboarded.
• Revenue generated from clearing services.
• Average clearance turnaround time.
• Customer satisfaction and resolution of complaints.
• Collections rate (days outstanding).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years’ experience in clearing & forwarding, freight operations, or related sales roles.
• Knowledge of Tanzanian customs procedures and import/export regulations.
• Previous experience in a clearing and forwarding or logistics company is an added advantage.
